Throughout our lives we have been so blessed with friendships and ministry opportunities. This blog is meant to share what God has been doing in, for and through us. It is also used as a resource page for teaching and preaching Dave has had the opportunity to do. We do this for the purpose of GLORIFYING GOD and HELPING OTHERS GLORIFY GOD.
The more I experience the gospel, the more there develops within me a yearning affection for my fellow Christians who are also participating in the glories of the gospel. This affection for them comes loaded with confidence in their continued spiritual growth and ultimate glorification and it becomes my pleasure to express to them this loving confidence regarding the ongoing work of God in their lives (p. 22)I am so thankful for the church, the specific churches I have been a part of and the universal church.
The LORD reigns; he is robed in majesty;One quote I found while preparing really struck me. C.H. Spurgeon wrote:
the LORD is robed; he has put on strength as his belt.
Yes, the world is established;
it shall never be moved.
Your throne is established from of old;
you are from everlasting.
The floods have lifted up, O LORD,
the floods have lifted up their voice;
the floods lift up their roaring.
Mightier than the thunders of many waters,
mightier than the waves of the sea,
the LORD on high is mighty!
Your decrees are very trustworthy;
holiness befits your house,
O LORD, forevermore.
“what can give greater joy to a loyal subject than a sight of the king in his beauty? Let us repeat the proclamation, “the Lord reigneth,” whispering it in the ears of the despondent "I am so thankful for the hope that I have in God through Jesus no matter what I am going through.
When there is nowhere to turn, what do you do?
When you are at the end of your rope, what do you do?
When things seem to be going well, what do you do?
When you are amazed at how well things are going, what do you do?
In each of these circumstances:
Be strong.
Fight bravely.
Trust God.
With no where to turn, surrounded by enemies, Joab, one of David's commanders, positioned Abishai, his brother against one side while he prepared to fight the other.
His advice to Abishai was "Be strong and let us fight bravely for our people and the cities of our Good. The LORD will do what is good in his sight." (1 Chronicles 19:13)
As we are coming to the end of our time, I have realized and need to continue to trust in the truth of this passage.
I need to prepare as best as possible and trust that the LORD will do what is good in his sight. Whether it is housing, finances, ministry responsibilities or entering an internship with a new born baby, I need to trust in the LORD.
God has proven himself faithful and amazing throughout our time here @ BBC&S.
Four years ago, I could not imagine how God was going to work circumstances out for us.
He has over and over again.
Now, I wonder the same thing as we prepare to go to Toledo for internship but I know who God is and what He is able to do.
