Don't Make Any Major Decisions?!?!?!?

Krista had a procedure/surgery on her eardrum today.  There was a hole that needed to be repaired.

After surgery, we received the standard post-anesthesia message - "Don't make any major decisions for the next 24 to 48 hours."
I could not help it.
I smiled on the outside and doubled over in laughter on the inside.

NO MAJOR DECISIONS!?!?!
During surgery, our house was being appraised.
This weekend, less than 48 hours, we have some pretty big decisions to make regarding our future - ministry, schooling, and life in general.

I am glad that we have been able to see God working in some incredible ways especially over the last couple of weeks.

I am so glad we were reminded each night of EBC's Vacation Bible School that we should trust in the Lord and lean not on our own understanding.

I am so very glad that God is sovereign, which means
ultimately these decisions depend on the Lord and
not on our own minds that are so easily influenced by
drugs both good and bad ones.
  lack of sleep
  lack of food
  the wrong kinds of food
  emotions
and so many other things.

Our New City Catechism question this week is...

What is God?
God is the creator and sustainer of everyone and everything.
Nothing happens except through  Him and by His will.

Pastor Duke shared with me a Valley of Vision prayer entitled Openness that reflects my prayer.  You can read the prayer HERE

Two Different Church

Visited two different churches today...

This was one of the quotes shared in the morning...
"The worst that can happen to us is not the loss of retirement investments, the loss of health, and the loss of face.  The worst that can happen is the loss of delight in the glory of God alone.  And the best that can happen to us is to be awakened to His glory as our joy, even if we must be humbled to experience that awakening."  Raymond Ortlund

This was a verse shared in the evening...
“[The righteous] will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the LORD.”
Psalm 112:7

This is what I need to remember...
This life is about God.
