1 comment:
1. "I declare I know no state of soul more dangerous than to imagine we are born again and sanctified by the Holy Ghost, because we have picked up a few religious feelings."
"For another thing, if we would grow in holiness and become more sanctified, we must continually go on as we began and be ever making fresh applications
2. The Trinity and the Christian work together in sanctification.
3. We cannot expect too much from our own hearts. We are needy debtors.
4. GENERAL: The word habitual was used over and over again. SPECIFIC: I need to be more habitual in my personal Bible reading/application.
5. A progressive work of the Holy Spirit and the Christian that inwardly and outwardly show faith in the work of God as the believer becomes more like Jesus Christ.
6. Someone who claims to be a child of God shows spiritual growth. This is a real challenge.
7. In the past, I have thought about sanctification just like justification. It is a work of God. While I believe it is a work of God this chapter has helped me more clearly see the work I need to invest in my growth. The section on the importance of the 10 Commandments was also very helpful and challenging.
