Short Statement (TBC doctrinal statement):
We believe that man was created in the image of God but sinned.

- Perfect Creation and the Origin of Man
- Created by God – Genesis 1,2 – creation Good – Man – VERY GOOD –
- Created for rational, moral, and spiritual fellowship with God.
- Image of God – Genesis 1:26; 5:3
- Unique from the rest of creation – God “breathed” life into man.
- This inherent value and dignity is not given to animals
- Responsibility and Free will
- Dominion and Choice – unlike animals that only know instincts.
- Immortality
- Man’s soul and spirit exist after the body dies and will be reunited with a new body at the final resurrection.

Why is it Vital to our Daily Lives:
- At the cross, Jesus paid the penalty (judicial) for our sin and allowed for His Righteousness to be transferred (imputation) to our account.
- God’s forgiveness extends grace to the sinner because of Christ’s work allowing God to be just and the justifier of all who believe and accept Jesus’ finished work on their behalf, making them adopted Children of God
