The LORD reigns

The Fighter Verses have been great reminders of who God is and how I am supposed to live in response to who God is.

This week's Fighter Verses, Psalm 96:9 - 10, contain a statement that was very challenging to me.
"Say among the nations 'The LORD reigns...'"
As a worshipper of God, a child of God because of Jesus Christ I need to say to the world "The LORD reign."
I need to proclaim that with my words, actions and attitudes.

It is my prayer that in the midst of the circumstances of life, I would remember that the LORD reigns and I would remind others that the LORD reigns.

There have been some challenges we have faced this past year and are still in the midst of.  It is my prayer that my life, no matter what, would proclaim "The LORD reigns."

In the midst of parenting challenges, the LORD reigns.
In the midst of housing challenges, the LORD reigns.
In the midst of ministry transitions, the LORD reigns.
In the midst of EVERYTHING, the LORD reigns.

Here is the question I have been thinking about in relation to this truth.
If I am to say the LORD reigns, what else am I to say?

If the LORD reigns, I am not the center of the universe.  God is the center.
If the LORD reigns, success in this life is not the most important thing.  God is most important.
If the LORD reigns, a ministry for the LORD is not the most important thing.  The one I am serving wherever I am is most important.
If the LORD reigns, my "goal in parenting is not ultimately for our kids to get a great education or to be great athletes or to find a great husband or get a great career.  Our goal is for them to love a great."  David Platt
If the LORD reigns, He is God and I am not.

Go back and read these "If the LORD reigns" statements and replace the word "if" with "because."

I want my life to say "The LORD reigns."
I want my Facebook timeline to say "The LORD reigns."
I want my interactions with other, whether face to face or online, to say "The LORD reigns."

I posted about how my #davesmorethanselfies pictures are an attempt to remember and thank God for the many people He has brought into my life.

David, The song we sang as we turned and followed your dad out of church that last time in 2004 was Our God Reigns. It was my saving Grace. I thought I would die right there. I wanted too. I know I had you & Deb & grandkids. But that wasn't enough when I thought my existence was attached mentally to my mom and your dad. When i hear that song now it is my song of declaration. Thanks for sharing this article. My reply is for your eyes only. Love and hugs as always
