Reformation 500 years

The Reformation is still very important.  Here are some resources to help realize and/or reflect on this truth.

To commemorate the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, Crossway is giving away free electronic copies the book Why the Reformation Still Matters by Michael Reeves and Tim Chester.
This is a limited time offer and you do need to fill out a survey to get the free copy.  Here is the link for a brief description of the book and directions on how to get the book - www.crossway.org/articles/free-ebook-why-the-reformation-still-matters/

Here are two quotes from the Introduction of the book.

"At its heart the Reformation was a dispute about how we know God and we can be right with him."
"The Reformation still matters because eternal life still matters."

Kenneth Stewart has written a very good summary/review of this book at www.thegospelcoalition.org/article/book-reviews-why-the-reformation-still-matters.
This review is positive about the book and also brings up three concerns that I agree with.  However, these concerns should not stop you from reading the book.

If reading a 200-page book seems a little intimidating, the 5-day devotional/Bible reading plan would be a good resource to use over the days leading up to Reformation Day.

In order to gain access to this reading plan, you do need to have an account with crossway.org, which is free to set up.

Starting tomorrow, October 26, quotes from each devotional along with a graphic of the corresponding Bible verse will be posted on the West Cannon Facebook page - www.facebook.com/wcbc1914/
Check these quotes and verses out and then post them on your wall or share them on someone else's wall.

Here are some of the devotion related graphics.
